Join the Tree Inspired Movement from 21 November - 8 December 2020
Widely known for their benefits for wildlife and the planet, trees also play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of people and our communities, which we may take for granted.
Get #TreeInspired
So, to raise awareness of the benefits these mighty sentinels bring, we're encouraging everyone, old and young, urbanites and rural forest-dwellers, to become 'Tree Inspired' this National Tree Week!
Over the next three weeks, we'll be sharing information aplenty on all the benefits trees bring, the best trees you can get planting in your garden and some amazing stories about some of the most ancient trees in the UK.
Here's plantsman and broadcaster Chris Beardshaw with more information.
The Community Forest Trust and Candide
The Community Forest Trust has teamed up with Candide - a buzzing hub of inspiration, knowledge and plants for gardeners and plant enthusiasts - to produce the ‘Tree Inspired’ campaign this winter to support CFT’s tree planting projects.
Throughout the 'Tree Inspired' campaign, Candide is hoping to raise £10,000 for CFT which will support the planting of 1,000 trees across woodland in England this winter. Each tree planted will capture approximately 135kg of carbon over 30 years, helping to play a part in combating the Global Climate Emergency.
Funds for the Charity will be raised through a selection of sustainable gifts available to purchase on the Candide website, for friends family and loved ones. Plus there will be details of how people can get involved with supporting CFT's tree planting activities.
You can save trees while funding tree planting across the country, by switching to one of Candide’s brilliant virtual card designs this Christmas. You can also dedicate a tree to a loved one and receive a personalised e-certificate or make a donation and receive a free pack of wildflower seeds.
Tree Inspired Competition
Candide will also be giving away £250 Candide Marketplace credit to 2 lucky winners!
To enter, either share your #TreeInspired memory to Instagram, using the hashtag and tagging @candidegardening or purchase an e-card donation from Community Forest Trust. Or do both for 2 entries!
