New Trustees wanted

We are currently seeking to recruit a new chair for the board of trustees and up to four further trustees to join our board to help take our organisation through the next few years of dynamic and exciting change, expansion of operations and on-the-ground delivery.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to a high-profile agenda and inform the delivery of national programmes of tree planting.

An opportunity to play a transformational role in some of England’s most important environmental programmes.

Community Forest Trust (CFT) is the national champion for community forests in England. Community forestry is all about involving people in planting trees and looking after woodlands, creating greener places that urban communities can enjoy.

We are passionate about the power of trees to transform places and strengthen and enhance communities.

CFT has small but dynamic full-time team and is a registered charity with a board of trustees.

Currently CFT is directly supporting The Mersey Forest in North Cheshire and Merseyside, City of Trees in Greater Manchester, White Rose Forest in the Leeds City Region and Heywoods in Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

One of our signature programmes is the Northern Forest plan to plant millions of trees across the North. In addition, CFT supports other community forests across England by helping to administer grants and offer advice and support.

CFT is currently working with the entire network of ten community forests across England to launch a major new programme of tree planting to address climate change, which will also lead to the establishment of at least three further community forests in 2020/21.

Closing date for applications is 12 September. We’re operating on a rolling recruitment basis interviewing candidates as they come forward.

We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates who are underrepresented in our organisation. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Iain Taylor on: iain@cf-trust.org
