Victoria Merton - Vice Chair

As Vice Chair, Victoria’s focus is on public affairs and government relations and working with the trustee network.

Victoria Merton, Vice Chair and Trustee, is the Director of Policy and Sustainability at Encyclis.

Victoria’s project focus is on The Northern Forest within the wider & growing network of Community Forests across the UK.

Victoria has been involved in the energy and infrastructure sector in the UK for the last 25 years.

Previously, she was with The Peel Group for 14 years, as Director of Corporate Affairs covering the energy, real estate and built environment sectors in the UK.

Her passion for trees, stems from her childhood and wider travelling, seeing how green infrastructure -from woodland planting to street trees - can improve mental wellbeing and encourage greater social engagement and knowledge sharing about the living world.

Victoria is happiest being outside and has always championed the hawthorn, a hardy tree with beautiful spring blossom and the European staple of strong hedgerows providing homes for plants and wildlife. She is founder and European Advisory Board member for The Hawthorn Club, a global energy network for women driving the energy transition.
